Known as the Asia's first female president and first female President of the Republic of the Philippines (the 2nd female president and current president of the Philippines is President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo), MARIA CORAZON COJUANGCO AQUINO, popularly known as 'Cory' died last Saturday due to colon cancer.
Filipino people loved her so much. The entire nation mourns her death; she was a woman of great leadership, a woman who was internationally recognized as an advocate of peace, freedom and democracy, and had a deep sense of religious devotion. It was really a loss for us Filipinos, but her legacy remains strong. What we are enjoying now is the result of her untiresome and unselfish dedication to serve the nation.
I am hoping that we as one nation would truly unite for the betterment of our society and let the legacy our President Aquino remains as a pillar of our beliefs as free people.
Mabuhay ka, Pangulong Aquino!
