60% of respondents approve Reproductive Health Bill

Two months ago, I posted a poll online regarding the issue on Reproductive Health (RH) Bill in the Philippines. About 60 percent of those internet users who answered the poll said they approved RH Bill while 30% did not approve the passage of the bill. The remaining 8 percent of the respondents simply chose the third option which is "I don't care."

Based on this online poll, I could sense that many Filipinos want Reproductive Health Bill to be approved by the Congress. I also posted the same question over Facebook and an overwhelming 87% approved the said bill.

While I did not consider any statistical measures on this survey, this online poll is a good source of information on people's opinions regarding this hotly debated issue in our country today.

Thought for Today

On my way to work, I was able to write the following quote while riding in a jeepney.

--The King's Rebel--

Happy Filipino-American Friendship Day!

The Philippines is commemorating the Filipino-American Friendship Day today. It was former President Diosdado Macapagal who moved the original Araw ng Kalayaan ng Pilipinas from July 4 to June 12 in 1962. Before 1962, we were celebrating Philippine Independence Day on July 4. July 4 then became Filipino-American Friendship Day which coincides the Independence Day of the United States of America which is known as The 4th of July.

My wish is that Filipinos and Americans will continue our strong friendship as democratic nations. Congratulations to the American people for celebrating their Independence Day today and to all Filipinos around the world!
