2012 Holidays in the Philippines

By virtue of Proclamation No. 295, series of 2011 signed by the President of the Philippines, Pres. BENIGNO S. AQUINO III, declares 10 regular holidays, five special (non-working) days, a special holiday, and two national holidays of Eid’l Fitr and Eidul Adha which dates are yet to be determined by Islamic scholars and authorities in accordance with the Islamic calendar.

These 10 regular holidays include the following:

1. New Year’s Day – January 1 (Sunday)
2. Maundy Thursday – April 5
3. Good Friday – April 6
4. Araw ng Kagitingan – April 9 (Monday)
5. Labor Day – May 1 (Tuesday)
6. Independence Day – June 12 (Tuesday)
7. National Heroes Day – August 27 (Last Monday of August)
8. Bonifacio Day – November 30 (Friday)
9. Christmas Day – December 25 (Tuesday)
10. Rizal Day – December 30 (Sunday)


Special non-working days are:

1. Chinese New Year – January 23 (Monday)
2. Ninoy Aquino Day – August 21 (Tuesday)
3. All Saints Day – November 1 (Thursday)
4. Additional special (non-working) day – November 2 (Friday)
5. Last Day of the Year – December 31 (Monday)

February 25 which falls on Saturday is likewise declared as special holiday for all schools throughout the country.
