Apolinario Mabini, known in Philippine history as Brains of Revolution, was born on July 22, 1864. Though born to a poor family, Mabini was able to get his Bachelor of Arts degree from Colegio de San Juan de Letran in 1881 and later received his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Santo Tomas.
A supporter of the Philippine Revolution, Mabini assisted Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo as the latter's adviser. He edited the first ever constitution in the entire Asia, the Malolos Constitution, which served as the basis for the birth of the First Republic of the Philippines. He was appointed as prime minister under President Aguinaldo's administration.
At age 38, he died of cholera in Manila. Though he was young when he died, his works and legacy to the Filipino nation is immeasurable. On July this year, the whole nation will celebrate the birth anniversary of our hero who selflessly worked for the betterment of this country.
Honor is due to him.
