Today, December 11, 2015 Ms. Korina Sanchez-Roxas shared her five (5) Secrets to Success to the college students of The Fisher Valley College in Taguig City. These five secrets are the following:
1. Mahalin at pagsilbihan ang mga magulang (Love and honor your parents).
Ms.
Korina mentioned that among the 10 Commandments of God, this is the
only commandment that has a promise when done. She did not mention the
particular verse in the Bible so I looked for it and here it is: "Honor
your father and mother, as the LORD your God commanded you. Then you
will live a long, full life in the land the LORD your God is giving
you." That can be found in Deuteronomy 5:16.
It
seems that the TV host of the 10-year-old Rated K values family,
especially her relationship with her parents (she mentioned that her
parents died in 2004).
3. Dream and plan your dream.
2. Maniwala sa sarili (Believe in yourself).
The
TV host likewise told the crowd that one needs to believe in
himself/herself to succeed. While people around you looked down on you
because you are nothing to them, it should be the perfect time to start
believing in yourself because if you do not, you'll start believing in
them which will surely hinders your journey to success. Self-confidence
is such a vital attitude towards yourself.
Without dreams, we are nothing, as if our lives are meaningless. We need to work for our dreams. We start by planning. This is where we put all our efforts in realizing our ambitions in life. We just can't leave it to anybody and then wait for its fulfillment.
4. Angat ng masipag ang matalino.
Being smart is good but being industrious is better. She mentioned that she tried to enter UP Manila when she was applying for college but unfortunately, she flunked because the course that she really wanted to enroll that time was a quota course. Even after earning a degree in Communication Arts, she had a hard time applying for a job. But she did not give up. She did all her best.
5. Pray and believe (Magdasal at maniwala).
Ms. Korina said that God is always there for us. We need to pray to Him and believe what we are praying for. Unless you pray and your believe in Him, your dreams of becoming who you are will not be materialized.
