I'd like to share an announcement from I Love Taguig Facebook page regarding the suspension of classes today, August 22, 2017. I copied the entire text in toto.

Due to the inclement weather and heavy rains brought by tropical storm Isang as per the latest Pagasa rainfall warning and weather bulletin, CLASSES are SUSPENDED in ALL LEVELS in Taguig City on Aug. 22, Tuesday. The suspension applies to both public and private schools in the city.

Be safe and stay dry everyone!

Walang Pasok: September 1, 2017 is a holiday

September 1, 2017 is a holiday throughout the Philippines. The Muslims will be celebrating Eidul Adha or the Feast of Sacrifice. It commemorates the sacrifice of Abraham of his son as commanded by God.

Filipinos are not savages

No matter how I want to get rid of bad elements in our society, it is totally unacceptable for the state to use its power without restraint against powerless and defenseless individuals. We are fast becoming beasts we abhor. It makes me feel sick to my stomach.

I am tracking the number of pageviews of this blog and it's quite amazing that Blogger has this tool where I can check several statistics. For the picture above, I got 1,179 visits from the Philippines from August 4-11. This is followed by 98 views from the United States, 63 views from Hong Kong, 56 from Indonesia, 44 from India, and 31 from Russia. This is really cool.

#WalangPasok: class suspensions on August 8, 2017

Some schools in Metro Manila cancelled classes on Tuesday, August 8 due to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Foreign Ministers' meeting which will be conducted in the Philippines.

These schools include:

University of Santo Tomas
Manila Tytana Colleges
De La Salle University Manila

ASEAN will turn 50 on August 8, 2017. The Philippines currently heads the chairmanship of the regional group.

High level meetings and celebrations started on August 5.

Colegio de San Juan de Letran suspended their classes in celebration of the feast of St. Dominic de Guzman.

The local government of Tacloban City also declared suspension of classes in all levels.
