While Filipinos are celebrating the 28th Anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution that took place in 1986, Genesis Carmona, a local beauty queen from Venezuela was killed of a gunshot. She is the latest fatality in Venezuela's political unrest.
Carmona, who was one of the supporters of Venezuela's opposition leader Leopoldo Lopez, participated on mass protests on Wednesday but later died of a gunshot.
The beauty queen won the regional title of Miss Tourism 2013 and was a student of Universidad Tecnológica del Centro majoring in Social Studies.
